Probably the greatest ever poker player.
I think players like phil ivery and daniel negraneu have played poker for so long and they have so much experience, they almost develop a 6th sense when it comes to reading people. simply amazing.
I think jackson's mistake was not pushing all in on his second reraise. if he was strong that's what he would have done, but instead he was weak and he wanted to leave himself chips if his move didnt work. ivey read right through it.
It makes me mad to see all these rediculous lists of the "best poker players". There are so many variations and games within poker. Some players are amazing at mtt's and not too good at cash games (Matusow, maybe even Hellmuth). Dwan makes more money of PLO than NLHE which nobody seems to realize, and really hasnt done well in the live mtt scene, cash games (at least internet he's one of the best in the world). With that said though I would agree that Ivey is the best well rounded player.

I think the other most important thing about Ivey is the man literally has an aura surrounding him. Ask anyone. It doesn't matter what he does. Kind of like how Patrik Antonius can 4-bet A2o and flop A22 vs. AK.
Stu Ungar only beat 7 players? 1980-73 players, 1981-75 players, back to back WSOP winner, 1997-312 players. Now I agree that now days you have less talented players winning like Jamie Gold or worst yet Joe Cada, but again, Stu was beating guy like Chip Reece, Doyle Brunson, Steve Zolotow and Mike Sexton, hardly donkeys on the par of Cada or Gold.

'' phil writes childrens books in his spare time ''
Makes sense to me, since Phil behaves like a child pretty often.
I believe that sam farha called a raise of 5 times the big blind at the 2005 wsop with pocket 33s and sucked out on poket aces. calling a raise with pocket pairs is standard idiot, just the simple rule no set no bet. maybe you can have permission 2 comment on players that pay $10000, when you play at wsop.
Aside from being such a brat, Helmuth is a decent person. Jen Harmon is a close friend and said his attitude at the table is purely tactical. to get you off your game. i believe this because otherwise his wife would've left long ago. but he's not that bad with people. he's actually nice. off the table.

Its a proof that Dan's ability to win poker is based on his future-seeing alien antennae.
Daniel is the most fun guy to watch -- seems to have a lot of fun, win or lose. He also has empathy for the other player -- which translates also into being his ability to figure out what cards the other guy has better than anyone.
Isn't it hilarious how much the poker pros sympathize with the amateur player after the hand is over? "Look at that", says Buss to Scotty -and Scotty goes "Aww"... like he really feels for Buss.
Daniel negreanu and sam farha. the best of the best rivals. my idols.

If Ivey had a King he would have won with a higher full house, with a 9 they would have split the pot, which isnt all that bad for Fitt cause he already put so many chips into the pot... I think what made him fold was that Ivey checked after him, but if Ivey had a 9 he probably would have bet, to represent the kings, and since he didnt bet, Fitt knew he was trapping him.
That was a phenomenal fold from jerry fitt ,
I'm pretty sure that Fitt is a terminator.

Can you just imagine if phil had the A10suited ?
AA to AK, AA to A7.... KK to KQ... are worse beats than overpairs to underpairs. 93%-7% in mathematical odds 53%-47% in party poker odds.
I give you respect hellmuth for winning wsop 11 times, but when u talk about being the best and tlaking yourself up it gets old, you would have more respect from everyone if you just did your thing and didnt talk like you no everything.
